I am Learning to Float with an Aid

Room 8 has been visiting the school pool on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. We have been learning to be safe in the water and using this time to gain confidence and to enjoy being in the water.

To be able to float in the water with an aid I must be able to:

- feel comfortable getting my face and hair wet

- use a pool noodle correctly (under my armpits)

- keep my feet off of the ground

My Reflection

I am proud of how I can swim on my tummy with the noodle.

It can be tricky to float when the noodle goes under the water.

I like being in the water when it is hot. It is fun!

I am Learning to Read a Bar Graph and Answer Questions

I am learning to read a bar graph and answer questions

I need to:

*read the question

*read the data (information) on the graph

*identify the lowest (fewest) and highest (most) bars

*read the quantities

*compare the data on the graph

*answer questions about the data (information) on the graph

My Reflection

I am proud of when I get all the questions right and when I try my best.

It can be tricky to read a bar graph when it doesn't have all of the numbers on it.

Next time I can ask someone on my table for help.

I am Learning to use Capital Letters and Full Stops

I am learning to use capital letters correctly:

I use a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence.

I use a capital letter for the word ‘I.’

I use a capital letter for names of things.

I am learning to use full stops correctly:

I use a full stop at the end of a sentence.

My name is John. I am 6 years old. I have one sister. I have two brothers.

My Reflection

It is tricky to use capital letters and full stops. I am proud that I tried. Next time I will sound out the first letter and the last letter.

Welcome to Year 2 2018

Welcome to my Learning Journey for 2018.

I am in Year 2, Room 8 and my teacher is Miss Clegg.

Cultural Celebration Day 2017.

I am representing China.  My mum bought these clothes in China for me to wear.  I can wear them for Chinese New Year.

My Awesome Reading.

When I started school this year, I could read the book, Packing My Bag.  It had two lines to read on one page.  NOW, I can read books like, The Big Bed.  It has loads of stories and poems in it.  We made a bookmark in class so that we could read this book for two days because there was sooooo much to read.  I can read some library books by myself at home and at school.  I am happy that I can read!

Mathletics at School.

I like Mathletics because I can get clever when I do the Maths.  It is tricky to do left and right but I have figured it out now.  I feel happy when I see the tick because that means I am right.  I like to go on the Ipad the best but the laptop is okay too.
