We Are Making Fried Bread To Celebrate Matariki.

Matariki at the Museum.

On Monday the 26th of June we went on a bus to the Auckland Museum.

We walked around and around and we saw some cool stuff!

Like dinosaur bones.

And a huge shark.

We heard a story of Matariki.  I chose the pekapeka design for my face.  I made a pot out of clay too.

I Can Find The Word-of-the-Week.

I am learning about the word - here.  This is a photo of my reader from this week - Birthday Balloons.  I can draw a circle around 'here' with my finger on the whiteboard on the ipad.  

"It's tricky to read some of the words.  My dad helps me.  I am proud of my work when I read and do my work."

"It's tricky for me to go on the laptop because I like the ipad.  I am proud of 22 because it's beautiful and I tried hard.  I like to count with my mum."

We Celebrate With Bubbles.

We have been blowing bubbles inside and outside the classroom.  We have seen big and little bubbles.  We have seen bubbles that go up
                                                                                                     and
                                                                                                              down.

I Am Learning to Publish My Writing.

1. We threw the autumn leaves and we took the photos outside.

2. We wrote our stories in our books.

3. We went on Kidpix and Mrs Kerr imported the photo.

4. We typed our stories and Mrs Kerr checked them.

5. We printed them for displaying on the wall.

6. We talked about the tricky parts.

Elm Park's 50th Birthday.

Elm Park is 50 years old!  Our school had a birthday party.  In Room 1, we made birthday balloons to put onto the wall.  We chose a colour and we glued the paper squares on.  At the end we shook glitter on our balloons.  They look wonderful!
